The Practice

Assembled with
deliberate care.

Every person on this team was chosen for a specific reason, not for their credentials alone but for what they bring that nobody else does. Together they make the work possible.

Jo Hemmings

Jo Hemmings

Behavioural Psychologist

Relationship patterns & the psychology of attraction

Jo brings something most matchmakers cannot offer: a forensic understanding of why people choose the partners they do and why those choices so often repeat.

One of the UK's most established behavioural psychologists, Jo has spent years working at the intersection of attraction, attachment, and the emotional dynamics that shape how relationships form and fail.

Within the team, Jo works with clients who are returning to relationships after significant loss or heartbreak, or who recognise a pattern in their past they no longer want to carry forward. Her role is to ensure introductions are built around emotional understanding, not surface appeal.

She advises television productions on contributor welfare and appears regularly across national television and radio as a relationship and behavioural expert.

Sophia Shepherd

Sophia Shepherd

Psychotherapist

Attachment, emotional resilience & relationship history

Sophia understands what happens beneath the surface of relationships. The early experiences that shape how people connect, and what gets in the way of intimacy even when everything else looks right.

With extensive experience in NHS services and private practice, Sophia has worked with individuals navigating relationship difficulties, significant life transitions, and the kind of emotional barriers that rarely show up on a first date but define every relationship that follows.

Within the team, Sophia works closely with clients around dating confidence, relationship history, and the patterns people find themselves repeating without fully recognising them. She is involved in the introduction process itself, helping build introductions between people who are likely to connect well emotionally in real life.

She has several years of experience working within high-profile dating and relationship television productions, supporting contributors and advising on psychological wellbeing.

Hannah

Hannah

Business Psychologist

Psychological profiling and assessment

Hannah leads the psychological profiling and ensures every introduction is grounded in something deeper than chemistry.

With a background in psychology and people development, Hannah brings a highly intuitive approach to understanding personality, values, and the way people are likely to relate to one another in the reality of a long-term relationship.

She has worked behind the scenes on high-profile television dating productions, supporting psychological assessment, contributor profiling, and relationship work across large-scale formats. Alongside her work in matchmaking, Hannah is Director of Open Door Performance, where she works across coaching, training, and organisational consultancy.

Her role within the team is to ensure every introduction is rigorous and that understanding is built rather than assumed.

Every client works with Dr Angela directly.

At different points in the process, you will also work with each member of the team. The psychological assessment, the matching work, the support between introductions: each person here plays a specific role and each one knows your case personally.

This is not a service where you speak to one person and are handed to another. The team works together and you are known to all of them.
